I did not find photography, it found me. My name means "light" and so I was destined to be a photographer. There is nothing more fulfilling when I know I have captured the perfect image. It is a feeling that is very hard to describe.
My photography career began in Los Angeles in the corporate entertainment field where I covered events for The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, The Los Angeles Philharmonic/Hollywood Bowl and USC (just to name a few). After finding out I was pregnant with my child, Gaia, I decided to focus my photography on shooting weddings, maternity photography and families. I take what I do very personally and I have developed friendships with many of my brides and grooms. I have had the opportunity to not only shoot their weddings, but also capture their special moments in their lives such as their pregnancy photos, newborn images and their family portraits from year to year.
I love adventure (my motto is "fear is the mind killer) and have traveled to over thirty five countries photographing many diverse cultures and landscapes while learning a lot about the world and myself. I have trekked the forests in Uganda in search of mountain gorillas. I have followed the nomads in Niger, sky dived in South Africa (where I was born), gone river rafting on the Nile, volunteered as a photographer in India and Ghana and lived in Costa Rica for 3 years where I was surrounded by nature!
I live in the Conejo Valley with my family that includes three dogs, a cat and our pot belly pig named Herman!
I am available to shoot weddings and events in Los Angeles or anywhere else in this beautiful world!
